Special Issue On An Enchanting "New" Idea

I hope everyone's summer is going well? It's hot here in Hotlanta, GA - big surprise, right? We're in the doldrums around here and I haven't written a newsletter in a while, simply because I haven't seen anything much worth writing about.

However, I'm excited about a "new" idea that isn't really new at all. I create lots of markets on eBay and elsewhere online and some of the subject matter is fascinating to me. I would like to do more with it - but what? Well, one popular idea is a paid membership site. I've always resisted that because they're a freaking amount of work!!! I have a friend with a $20/month membership site and she works full time, AND has a part time employee, just to keep the content rolling. Thanks, but no thanks.

Along comes an old friend, Jimmy Brown, with an idea I really, really like. Jimmy has a membership site course called MEMBERNAIRE. But it isn't the 'traditional' membership site but it's based on a new idea. New to me, that is. And it isn't so freaking much work. And it's very affordable. And the course is modeled on his plan, so I'll get to see how it works from the member point of view. Here's the idea:

Cost To Your Members

The cost of these memberships is fairly low: $10-$25/month. That means that it wouldn't be hard to get members. After all, if someone is passionate about RC cars, kite flying or soccer, then they want to know more. We're all willing to spend money on the things we care about, even in today's economy.

And that sum is so trivial that most people won't think twice. I remember reading that during the Great Depression of the 1930s, movies were hot, hot, hot. Even in the worst of times, people were willing to come up with $.05 (the cost of a movie in those days) for entertainment.

I'm A Fanatical Bowler

My mind started churning at this concept. For example, I am a passionate bowler! I bowl at least twice per week and often more. But it's a lousy niche. Why? Because there's nothing much for bowlers to buy. There's

* A ball (I will never buy a bowling ball online because it has to be drilled - and wow, the shipping costs must be dreadful)
* Shoes
* A bag

Every bowling alley I've been in has a 'pro' shop, with frequent sales. So it's not much of an online niche.

But, ah, a membership site ... now there's an idea.

How To Feed The Hungry Information Maw

THIS is the sticking point to me. But Jimmy's idea is about a "fixed-term membership site" which consists of weekly content shared via autoresponder to paid members for a specified period of time.

For content, what you do is

1. Write ONE 2-3 page article lesson every week.
2. Load this article to an autoresponder for subscribers to access.
3. Sell access to the series, which would last 3 - 6 - 9 or 12 months.

Your Costs As The Membership Site Owner

I have a terrific American writer who will put together a 600-700 word article for $10. To write a 2-3 page article she would charge about $40-$50. I'm guessing here, because I haven't asked her yet (want to see what Jimmy has to say first) but I'm almost 100% positive that $50 would be the max - especially if she does one each week. So my costs would be $200/month. If you're willing to write this article yourself, or have your spouse, significant other or teen age kids do it, then those costs go away.

I'm not including the costs of an autoresponder system since we already have one and so it's a fixed cost of doing business. That might not be the same for you, though.

What's Awesome About This Model

Since it's set up on an autoresponder system, it's always new and fresh and you can have people joining at any time. There is no "beginning", no "we've been doing this for two months & you're behind, New Member". Everybody starts from the beginning and you can ignore the entire system once it's set up. Heck, this thing could make profits for years and years and years.

"But Where Can I Find Some Members For My Site"?

I will be able to find members from my eBay lists, and so can you. However, Jimmy promises to answer these questions, too. His future topics include:

* Finding new subscribers to join your site! (Free methods!)
* Keeping subscribers as active, paying members!
* Getting members to buy other products and services!
* Tricks and techniques for skyrocketing your profits!
* Doubling, tripling and quadrupling your subscribers and revenue!

With ways to increase your profits, other than straight membership fees, we won't need as many members to make a handsome residual income.

Now For The Best Part - Your Profits

There's no doubt that membership sites are quite profitable. Or, they can be. To quote from Jimmy's Membernaire site:

= = =

A good friend of mine does the math at a site of his -

500 Members X $20 Per Month = $10,000 Monthly Profit

That's $10K coming in monthly from one site ... from just 500 members.

Sidebar: This isn't an unrealistic number ... one of my membership sites had 1,500 members paying $29.97 per month and another one of my membership sites had 2,500 members paying $10.00 per month.* Let me do the math for you. That's $44,995/month for the first site and $25,000/month for the second. If that doesn't get your attention, then it's time for a jolt of Rockstar high energy drink ... cuz you need to wake up!

You Have Zero Risk

Jimmy offers a two month guarantee - if you're not happy at any time during those 8 weeks or so, they you can get your money back. And naturally, you can quit at any time.

How do we know he'll keep his word? Simple. His Membernaire site is run through Clickbank and they are certain to honor any guarantee made by one of their sellers.

There's A Time Limit (Naturally)

Jimmy is going to stop selling this when he reaches 1,000 members, which will be soon I'm sure. {Hmmmmmmmm ... $1,000 x $27 = a very nice residual monthly income. The man practices what he preaches.}

My Comments

Most people on this list have been around for a while, because I don't actively recruit members for this newsletter any longer. So you all know that sending out a newsletter about one particular program happens, well - never. I can't remember the last time I did this. That tells you how enthusiastic I am about this idea. I joined before I had even finished the sales letter, as a matter of fact.

Is Jimmy's course any good? I dunno. Maybe it's lousy, although I doubt it. But I have an exciting new idea and I am definitely going to pursue it, with or without Jimmy. But it would be easier with his help.

If you join Membernaire, let me know. It might be interesting to compare notes.

By the way: if you live in the US, have a safe and steamy 4th of July.
