I've Been Waiting For This For Years!

Have you ever been standing in a store or warehouse or at a neighborhood yard sale, spotted a treasure, and wondered if it would be a winner on eBay? Wondered what the current sale price is and whether you could make money with it?

I know I have and usually by the time I go home, check the price, figure out if I can make money, etc., the moment has passed me by and I don't go back and get the goodies.

For years, I've been wanting a simple way to get that all-important eBay info no matter where I am and I've wondered why someone didn't provide that service. Now someone has.

"Mpire Researcher Mobile" begins today, March 23, 2006. You can use your cell phone and call in and get eBay research information.. For example, my friend and yoga teacher wants me to find out if eBay is a good place to buy some yoga mats for her studio. I discovered:

* The average starting price is $18.41
* The average top selling price is $28
* Most auctions run 7 days
* 77% of yoga mats sell
* The best time to end these auctions is 9-10AM on Friday

There's more, but you get the idea. Of course my friend doesn't care about anything but the quality and price, but suppose I was standing in a place like Costco and they had yoga mats on sale for $6.95. Would I be interested in buying all I could get my hands on? Absolutely!

On weekends, most people get free unlimited cell phone minutes, which might be the time when this service is most valuable. If you're working at a J-O-B but trying to build your eBay business to get out of it, your hunting time will most likely be the weekend. Free minutes + eBay data at your fingertips = wiser buying decisions.

The service will be free for a couple of weeks and then it will be a modest $4.99 month. Try it out now, while you can do so at no cost, just to see how you like it. The weekend is coming ... :-)

Feature Article: Astaxanthin Ends Chronic Pain

A minor miracle has occurred in my life. I have found a "joint vitamin" that has ended a source of chronic pain. Come to think of it, that's not such a minor miracle after all. :-)

When I was in my 20s I ran. And ran and ran. Generally I ran at least three miles a day, six days a week. I didn't do it for love of the sport but because I never had to worry about my weight. I could eat anything and everything I pleased and I was still trim and lean.

However, now I am paying for it. My right knee, in particular, sometimes causes extreme pain. Until last year I could take the supplement glucosamine and the pain would disappear. But recently, that hasn't worked and my knee has been paining me for at least a year.

And sometimes the pain is quite severe.

Then I read about a new joint vitamin called 'astaxanthin'. Supposedly it works for people who aren't affected by glucosamine. There are some pretty fantastic claims, like the notion that it eases or eliminates arthritis, osteoarthritis, carpal tunnel and causes muscles to heal faster.

While I was pondering this, my son told me of a program he'd seen on TV. According to the TV, astaxanthin is one of the most potent antioxidants ever discovered. Not only is it 500 times more powerful than vitamin E, it facilitates vitamin E in the body.

His input caused me to order four bottles of astaxanthin that very day and I began taking it as soon as it arrived. For about 3-4 weeks, nothing seemed to happen. Then suddenly, overnight (it seemed), my knee pain disappeared! When using my weight machine or doing yoga, I still feel an occasional twinge, but I confidently expect that to disappear soon.

And there was something I didn't expect ... In March of 2004 I broke my wrist. Even though it's long healed, I still have pain at times. When I bought my weight machine, the pain intensified and my entire arm often throbs. I have been determined to persevere anyway, in the expectation that eventually my arm and wrist would be so strong that the pain would cease. However, suddenly it's reduced by about half and I can only attribute that welcome relief to the astaxanthin. Like my knee pain, I expect it to eventually fade away entirely. But even if it does not, the relief I've received so far is very welcome.

I plan to take astaxanthin for the rest of my life.

This may seem like an odd story for a business ezine, but I'm sharing it anyway because:

1. The better we feel physically, the more our business will prosper

2. I am so enthusiastic that if I can save anyone some of the pain I have suffered, I'll be very happy

eBay "Best Offer" Adds Extra Features in Jewelry & Watches

Have you tried the "Best Offer" feature on eBay? It allows a buyer to make an offer for your merchandise and you have 48 hours to decline, accept or you can simply let the bid expire. If you accept, the offer becomes binding and all other bids are immediately dropped.

eBay is experimenting with features in the Jewelry & Watches category. Here are the enhancements:

1. Increased number of offers - buyers will be able to make up to 3 offers per item (increased from one), making it easier to come to an acceptable price

2. Counter-offer – sellers can respond directly to a Best Offer by either accepting the offer or making a counter-offer (in other categories, a seller cannot make a counter-offer).

3. Auto decline feature – sellers can set a minimum Best Offer price that they will consider. All offers below that price will be automatically declined.

I'm sure that if these changes work well these features will be added to other categories. If you're interested in the Best Offer option, here are the rules:

* Best Offer is available at no charge for sellers

* You must have a feedback rating of 10 or more (or be ID Verified) to accept Best Offers on listings

* To create a Best Offer listing with a quantity of two or more, you must have a feedback rating of 30 or more, and be a registered user for at least 14 days (or be ID Verified)

eBay Home Improvement Contests

Did you know that eBay holds contests? Some of them are quite worthwhile - like $10,000 for remodeling your home. It's amazing what folks can and will buy on eBay. Here are the 2005 contest winners, for example:

http://pages.ebay.com/remodelfinalist

{Notice that they're all from Elgin, Texas? They were serious about this contest in Elgin. LOL}

* A farmhouse sink
* Hickory wood flooring
* Stainless steel kitchen package - Maytag refrigerator & range, GE dishwasher & microwave
* Period hardware and faucets
* Retro brushed nickel ceiling fan
* Granite countertops
* Vessel stone lavatory sink
* Whirlpool 14 jetted bath tub for two
* GE Profile black electric cooktop

I admit to being amazed that people will buy such major purchases on eBay. I want to be able to go to my local Home Depot or Lowe's and fuss if there's a problem. Obviously, a lot of folks are comfortable dealing on eBay, though. Gives me an idea since I have a couple of online home stores ... Beautiful rooms, too.

And check out the outsides of these homes. Startling differences in both of them.

"The Insider Secrets of an eBay Millionaire" Files For Chapter 7

A few months ago, the Internet Marketing Center, the late Corey Rudl's company, introduced an eBay course called "The Insider Secrets of an eBay Millionaire". This $197 course was the wisdom of an eBay seller named Brandon Dupsky. According to the advertising, "Brandon Dupsky Makes $22,000 A Day On Ebay". Dupsky's company was Sell2All Inc. and he seemed to be an awesome success story.

However, this month Dupsky's company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. It would be helpful to know what caused this sad situation. Mr. Dupsky isn't commenting, at least at this time, so we don't know.

Too rapid expansion seems a likely possibility, though. That happened to me in a real estate business. My success was so overwhelming, and so fast, that even with three employees it got away from me and I couldn't keep it under control. Sometimes too much success, too fast, is as bad as failure - although that doesn't seem possible when things aren't going well. Regardless, it's a lesson for all of us to exercise restraint, even when things are going well.
