Antique Auctions: Yes, It Is Still Possible To Profitably Auction Antiques
While looking for eBay business ideas, antique auctions were probably one of the first you discarded. In the early days of eBay, antiques and collectibles were almost the entire bulk of the giant auction site's business. However, that has declined now so many sellers don't take antiques seriously as an auction product. Too bad for us.

Whether we like it or not, antique auctions are very popular among eBay users. Buyers often are not interested in the market of tomorrow, but the flea market where they can look for small interesting gadgets to put around their houses. If that's the case, there is no reason for not making some profit on it, regardless of the fact that antique auctions are no longerthe spearhead of eBay evolution. There are several reasons for antique auctions to be the type of business you may want to start.
First, there are many potential bidders.
Then, the price of the antiquities isn't set (within reason, of course), and they are effectively worth as much as the highest bidder is prepared to pay. This opens a possibility of large profits.
Finally, antiques are relatively easy to gather, especially if you live in Europe. There are thousands of opportunities for getting old lamps, renovated chairs or weathervanes – and each of them can be possibly sold for more than twice its original value.
Antique auctions might be just something you need to make a lot of money out of eBay. Of course, there rules of this trade and you will have to learn them quickly (hopefully you won't lose money while learning these lessons), but antique auctions have too great potential to simply leave them alone.
