Auto Transport Hawaii: Transporting That Auto You Just Sold To Hawaii

Auto transport: Hawaii

There are only few things that are more dangerous for your car than auto transport. Hawaii is one of the farthest places you can ship your car to within the U.S., so it should be also one of the most dangerous, shouldn't it? Well, not necessarily so. Auto transport to Hawaii might actually be much easier to do and safer than getting it to any other location (save Alaska). The reason for that is simple: it is much safer to transport cars using a container or ro-ro ship than a truck.

How it is done?

Most of the times your auto transport company will ask you to drive the car to the terminal to load it into the container that will then be shipped to Hawaii. It is somewhat time-consuming, but makes your car almost 100% safe. While in the container, you car can't be accidentally scratched or dented and it usually takes a serious accident (one you can read about in newspapers) to damage it. Auto transport to Hawaii is sometimes done also by the ro-ro ships, but the safety is much lower then, roughly comparable to what you can expect while shipping your vehicle by truck.

Delivery times

You have to allow a few more days for auto transport. Hawaii is quite a long way from the continental U.S. and cargo ships are somewhat slower than trucks. Don't worry too much about it though – most of the time the travel still take days rather than weeks.
