Wow! Talk about expensive! For example, one subscriber for your newsletter who was interested in "alaska fly fishing" would cost $28.80. Most of us can't afford that!

eBay has two fees for lead generating products:
1. Insertion fees: 100 (or 100,000) = $4.80
2. Final Value fees: 5.25% per item
+ Total cost for 100 views: $4.80 + $5.25 = $10.05
+ 20 subscribe making the cost per subscriber: $.50 |

A point to remember ... an eBay subscriber doesn't truly cost $.50! Why not? Because your eBay buyer is paying you for everything (s)he buys! Therefore, you are actually getting paid to sign up a new subscriber. Sweet!

You can - literally - listing a product on eBay for a measly $.20!

In a recent seminar, Sydney observed that between each session, hordes of attendees hastily opened their laptops to check on their AdWords campaigns, to ensure they weren't over-spending. And that didn't include the ones who had turned off their campaigns for the duration of the seminar!

We've played the SEO (search engine optimization) game ourselves and we know how it works.
You can spend a huge amount of time and money trying to get a high SE position and this is what happens:
|
 |

 |
 |
POSSIBLE OUTCOME #1. Perhaps you get some high SE position - but usually only for some of your keywords, but not all
POSSIBLE OUTCOME #2. The whole effort is an expensive and miserable failure
POSSIBLE OUTCOME #3. You get some great SE positions ... and then Google changes their algorithm and you're once again a resident of Nowheresville. Plus, it can take a long, l-o-n-g time.

You pay your $.20 & in a
few
minutes you're listed on eBay. |

An eBay buyer has to go to a LOT of trouble to buy from you - unlike someone who casually & accidentally stumbles on a Google ad.

The two sellers above each sold some golf balls - and one is stressed and worred, whereas the other one is clearly pleased with himself and his results? Why such different attitudes?
First, let's figure out how much money they made. Checking eBay, we can clearly see that there isn't a lot of profit in golf ball sales. Here are some current BIN (Buy It Now) eBay auctions:
36 AAAA Titleist NXT Used Golf Balls: $16.00 ($.44/ball)
36 AAA+ Titleist NXT Golf Balls: $12.00 ($.33/ball)
72 AAA Titleist NXT Golf Balls: $18.00 ($.25/ball)
Looking at my wholesale sources, I see that a box of Titleist golf balls ranges from $11-$14.50, depending on grade and number. So, clearly there is very little profit in golf ball sales. For the purposes of this article, let's assume that each seller made $2 in profit on their sales.
SELLER A: is really worried. She has a mortgage, car payment and a kid starting college next year. She needs an income of at least $5,000/month. At only $2 in profit, she is going to need 2,500 sales every month. Today, there are 5995 items listed under a search for 'golf balls' so we know that competition is stiff.
Also, we know that eBay buyers are price-oriented and since golf balls are a standard item, there's no reason to favor one seller over another based on anything but price, price, price. This drives the price DOWN and eliminates any sort of buyer loyalty.
What are the odds that she'll sell 2,500 golf ball packages every month???
Right. Really, REALLY low.
SELLER B: He is in the exact same situation as Seller A. He doesn't have any "secret suppliers" or any advantage that she doesn't have. His expenses are just as urgent as hers. Yet, he's smiling and cheerful and he sucks on his lollipop. The question is ...

The reason is because success on eBay is all about ...

And that is EXACTLY what the Auction Leads Machine© classes teach you how to do on eBay.
That's exactly what most eBayers do & why we say "most sellers are working for eBay rather than themselves!" |

 |
If you are successful on "traditional" eBay, you will soon discover that there are lots of sellers who will copy everything you do.
They will copy your auction templates, use your exact words - and even steal your pictures!
Even worse, your buyers might be besieged with emails offering them"deals" ... "Don't buy through her auction! We can
sell you the same product $5 cheaper."
If you follow our Auction Leads Machine© methods, nobody will have a clue about what you are doing! Cool!

OK, you've convinced me that eBay is great for my affiliate business so ...
"I'll just list an item on eBay &
put
a link to my affiliate site!"
|
|
Here is a sales letter advertising a silly product that supposedly teaches you how to drive traffic to your websites directly from eBay:

Here's what eBay has to say about putting links in your auction listings ...
Non-permitted links include, but are not limited to:
* Links to websites or pages that offer to trade, sell or purchase goods or services outside of eBay. This applies whether it is a static URL or an active link.
Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
- Listing cancellation Limits on account privileges Account suspension
- Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
- Loss of PowerSeller status
|
Do sellers ever break these rules?
Sure. All the time.
But, rule-breakers will eventually get caught {competitors will be the first to report these infractions}! After all, they're messing with eBay's profits and eBay takes a very dim view of that.
Here's the thing ... the only way you can run a successful campaign to sell your affiliate products is if you put your eBay campaigns on auto-pilot. If you're always in a war with the eBay police, you can't possibly have a smooth, auto-pilot system.

"So what if I follow eBay's rules
& list my affiliate product directly on eBay?"

This seems to make sense. But there are all kinds of difficulties. Let's say you list a golf club from Commission Junction on eBay. The club costs $74.96 and your affiliate commission is $10.

You're in violation of eBay's rules which state that you must have your merchandise in your possession. The importance of this rule is TIMING. eBay buyers want their merchandise yesterday so you must be able to deliver quickly.

What if the bidding only reaches $50.97? How are you going to deliver the merchandise when you're $23.99 short (which doesn't include eBay & PayPal fees). Even though you receive a $10 commission, you will still lose at least $13.99.

What if the golf club reaches a price of $87? When the buyer finds out that he paid an extra $12.04, how is he going to feel about YOU? What will he say when he leaves feedback on eBay? Will you ever receive any future sales from this buyer?

What if you offer the golf club for its exact price of $74.96 and someone buys it at exactly that price. Now what? HOW do you deliver the club?
- The buyer has already paid you. Are you going to go to the affiliate site, order the golf club and have it shipped to him? If you make 50 sales every month, isn't that going to take a lot of time? And a lot of customer service & follow up? After all, the "hands-off" aspect of affiliate marketing is what makes it so intriguing.
- Or, what if you ask your eBay buyer NOT to pay you - but to go to the affiliate site himself and order directly? With stories about Internet fraud constantly in the news, isn't he going to think something really weird & scammy is going on? And isn't it likely that one of your buyers will quickly report you to eBay?
Seems hopeless doesn't it?
The good news: it isn't hopeless at all! In the Auction Leads Machine© course we'll show you exactly how to get what you want - MORE AFFILIATE SALES AT A VERY LOW COST - without having the Wrath Of eBay coming your way.
