eBay Coupons: Can You Sell A Coupon On eBay?

The eBay coupon business is alive and thriving!

eBay coupons are a healthy business on the famed auction site. Today there are 12,462 listings for the keyword "coupon" and they range from diapers to office supply products to dining out. And here's the best part ... almost all of them have bids!

Some coupons are not allowed:

Ebay coupons aren't OK if they fit in any of the following four categories:

"Bulk" coupons. This refers to large numbers of coupons sold in one listing and includes the following restrictions:

* More than 20 coupons for the same item
* More than 100 total coupons. If it is unclear how many coupons are offered
* Coupon inserts (typically found in newspapers) are limited to five - unless the seller indicates in the listing that the quantity of coupons for sale is under 100 total coupons
* If the total number isn't specified, the listing will be removed

Electronic coupons: all coupons must be delivered physicall. Coupons that are "scanned' aren't allowed - in fact, they may be in violation of federal copyright laws. To further reduce fraud, sellers are asked to obscure their coupons in some way so that they can't be copied online and then printed. Here is an example of a seller who has done just that:

Free product coupons: coupons for free products, with no purchase required, are limited to two per listing.

Expired coupons: this is forbidden by eBay, but it seems unnecessary. Why would anyone buy a coupon that has expired?

Penalties for violation of eBay coupon rules:

The penalties for breaking the rules are:

* Listing cancellation
* Limits on account privileges
* Account suspension
* Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
* Loss of PowerSeller status

Obviously, all of those rules don't apply on every occasion, but the eBay coupons business is a very healthy one and well worth pursuing, so make certain that you obey these rules and you might have a generous monthly income.
